Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters

Episode 69: The Legendary Fisherman

Jounouchi's in good form, with Kajiki having no Monsters on the Field to defend him. Jounochi fuses the Baby Dragon and Wyvern Warrior into the Dragon-Riding Wyvern.

Kajiki plays a Monster, but Jounouchi can't figure out what it is, due it hiding under the Sea. Jounouchi used the Wyvern to fly over the water and attack Kajiki directly.

Once again, Kajiki places a card under the water. Jou attacks again, but Kajiki uses the Tornado Wall card to absorb the damage. Kajiki plays another card and attacks.

The Legedary Fisherman rises up out of the water to attack the Wyvern. Jounouchi tries to reduce its attack strength to zero with the Energy Dragin card, but the Fisherman is unaffected by Magic.

Kajiki tells Jounouchi about the Legendary Fisherman, after Jounouchi remarks that it actually looks alive. The Fisherman was a card that was indirectly given to him by his father, who was still lost at sea.

Jounouchi has now gone on the defensive, when Kajiki summons another Monster, the Fortress Whale.

In the alley, Bakura and Malik cease their little battle of wills, since they have a common enemy. They begin to concoct a deal.

The effort of the Fisherman removes all Monsters defending Jounouchi, which allows the Whale to attack directly. Jounouchi can't use Traps on the Fisherman without knowing the exact timing, so he has to think. He then figures out where the Fisherman is hiding.

Jounouchi waits for the attack, and grabs the Fisherman with the Magic Arm Shield. He swings it in the path of the Whale's attack, which promptly destroys the Fisherman.

Kajiki is ready to give up, since he's lost the Fisherman. Jounouchi tells him that the battle isn't over yet, and regardless if he's lost the Fisherman, Kajiki's father is still fighting along side him. Though the Whale attacks again, Jounuchi uses a combination of the Panther Warrior, Chained Boomerang and Lightning Sword to destroy it.

Kajiki uses Rebirth of the Dead to bring a destroyed Monster back to the Field, but can't see which one, and every knows its the Fortress Whale. Jounouchi uses Hurricane on his turn to return all Magic and Trap cards to their owner's hands. When the Sea card returns to Kajiki's hand, all that is left is the Legendary Fisherman.

Kajiki couldn't leave it in the Cemetery. He tells Jounouchi to attack. He does, reducing Kajiki's Life Points to zero, and winning and duel. Kajiki gives the Legendary Fisherman card to him.

As for Kaiba and Yugi, the Kaiba Corporation's system locates Jounouchi, and Kaiba informs Yugi. They then begin their way to meet him.
Episode 70: The Curses of the Masks, The Rooftop Duel

Jounouchi calls Shizuka to tell her of his wins. She wants to see him duel, and Honda volunteers himself to go pick her up.

Bakura shows up, being supported by Malik, though the rest of the crew doesn't know exactly who he is. He introduces himself as Nam. Sugoroku is given the task of taking him to the hospital.

As Yugi and Kaiba walk from the aquarium, being too late to meet up with Jounouchi, they are observed from a rooftop by two robed individuals. Malik has ordered them to get the God cards back. They feel it will be a cinch, with their God-Sealing Decks.

"Nam" asks for advice from Jounouchi about dueling, but they are accosted by the Ghouls. Yugi calls Anzu's cell phone, but is cut off as one of the Ghouls smashes her phone.

In the city, Yugi and Kaiba are "invited" to a duel by two of the Ghouls -- using Mokuba as bait.

On a roof top of a shopping center, Yugi and Kaiba team up against Light and Dark Mask. The results of the duel are simple. There is a bomb attached to each pane of glass that each duelist is standing on. When their Life Points reach zero, the bomb detonates, dropping the duelist to a long death.

The combination of the Masks is overwhelming. Each are supporting the others' cards, which doesn't help the fact that Kaiba is trying to destroy them on his own. Yugi realizes that he and Kaiba are in trouble based on these facts.
Episode 71: The Sealed God Cards

Yugi tries to summon a better Monster, but the Sacrifice-Sealing Mask that is activated by Light Mask prevents he and Yugi from sacrificing. This means that the God cards cannot be summoned.

Kaiba tries to take out one of the Masks' powered-up Monsters with a Destruction Ring, but a play on the Masks' part leaves Kaiba with a large drop in Life Points, and no Monster to defend him against the approaching attack.

At a hospital, Honda arrives to take Shizuka to where Jounouchi is. And in a warehouse, Anzu is locked in a room by the Ghouls.

Kaiba is about to lose when a wall of Kuribo appear between the attack and Kaiba. Yugi has saved Kaiba's skin. He tells Kaiba that they will never be able to win unless they team up.

Anzu gets some company in the warehouse -- Mokuba is thrown into the same room.

Light Mask plays a card to remove the multiplied Kuribo, and destroy the remaining Kuribo. Yugi has an idea, but can't do it for fear of destroying any chance they may have to win that lays in Kaiba's hand. Kaiba then uses a bit of kibitzing to clue Yugi in to reviving Monsters from the Cemetery.

The Masks summon the Masked Hellraiser, and attacks Yugi directly, but Kaiba throws a Minotaur in the way. Yugi activates the Hand Obliteration card, forcing each player to discard his or her hand, then draw the same number. With it, Yugi's Gilfar Demon goes to the Cemetery...

Kaiba then activates Raise Dead to summon Blue Eyes from the Cemetery.
Episode 72: Unify!

Though Kaiba has Blue Eyes on the Field, the Masks bring up the little fact that Blue Eyes is still weaker than the Masked Hellraiser. Yugi tells Kaiba to attack anyway.

Kaiba does as told, and the Hellraiser is destroyed. It's unknown how, when Yugi tells them that the Gilfar Demon that he discarded becomes an Equipment card on the Field when it enter the Cemetery. He equipped it on the Masked Hellraiser, reducing its attack strength enough for Blue Eyes to destroy it. [EDO'S NOTE: ...and its a combo you CAN'T do in the real card game.]

In a different room of the warehouse, Jounouchi is interrogated by Rishid. The Ghouls have a plan for Jounouchi. However, Anzu is assisting Mokuba in making his getaway from a window. Though some of the Ghouls catch on, Mokuba gets out and runs for help.

The Masks try to take down Blue Eyes, but Yugi uses a few tricks to keep he and Kaiba in the lead. While Kaiba debates the meaning of power and unity, the teamwork of the Masks appears to be breaking down.

On a train, Honda is taking Shizuka to Domino City.

Back in the warehouse, Anzu is locked in a different room, and strapped to a chair. Jounouchi enters the room, but says nothing, his eyes glazed over.

A last-ditch effort on the part of the Masks pays off as they summon their most powerful Monster, the Death Guardius. And the last item of business is to decide who to attack: Yugi or Kaiba?
