No challenge to that copyright and trademark is intended. ----------------------------------------------------------------- BATTLE 288: FOR THE NAME OF GOD Yugi takes the mummy of his father to safety, while the Priests try and protect him. Priest Seto and Mahaado's Illusion Magician, along with a Guardius from another Priest, are no real match for Diabound. This is when Yugi stands to accept the challenge. Yugi calls the name of Obelisk, which descends from one of the highest places in the palace. BATTLE 289: IMMENSE HAMMER Of course Bakura is overconfident, after a long spiel, he begins his attack on Obelisk - which is absolutely unhurt. One God Hand Crusher is enough to knock Diabound and Bakura to the ground. Bakura uses the special ability of Diabound to pass through walls, and retreats. BATTLE 290: SEARCHING FOR THE PHARAOH'S NAME!! In the room of Yugi's mind, Jounouchi begins to kick open random doors - which have traps in them. Anzu and Yugi think about how to make their way into that world, and also about how to unlock the other Yugi's memories. Bobasa states that the key is that Yugi's real name. In the royal palace, Priest Mahaado apologizes to the pharaoh for failing in his duty to protect the tombs. He asks for the opportunity to hunt down Bakura. Yugi simply asks him to return his father to his tomb. In the Shrine of the Wedges, Aknadin and Priest Seto are talking of the ability of Yugi to call forth a God, and what Bakura was talking about in Kul Elna's Forest. Aknadin tells him that there was an evil force that was banished there by the power of the Millennium Items. Priest Seto states that he will find a power to surpass God. And in the royal palace, Yugi think of his friends and his name. BATTLE 291: AN ANCIENT DUEL!! While the rest of the kingdom searches for Bakura, a duel to test the abilities of the Priests begins: a three on three duel. When all of on team's Monsters are no longer able to fight, that side loses. The teams are Aknadin, Seto and Shada versus Mahaado, Isis and Kalim. Seto calls forth Duos, and Shada summons Zerua. Mahaado uses the Illusionary Magician and Isis summons Spiria. Seto's Duos tries to attack the Illusionary Magician, but the Magician uses its Illusionary Curse. Aknadin takes this opportunity to summon Dark Shabti, which takes the effect instead of Duos. Isis uses Spiria to create a Rainbow Defensive Wall, but Shada uses Zerua's ability to negate her effect. Then, Kalim uses a Trap Monster, Hiding Desert Spider. Its webbing holds Zerua fast. Priest Seto, being the person he is, uses his team's Monsters as sacrifices. Duos chops the two allied spirits down, to triple Duos' strength. Duos then uses its Aura Sword to destroy the competition. The opposing team may have lost, but they chastise Seto for sacrificing his own teammates to win. Even Yugi states so, and there is more than one kind of "power." He is willing to demonstrate, but dueling Seto. Seto summons Duos, and Yugi's choice of Monster is...Kuribo. Seto tries to destroy the tablet before the Kuribo is summoned, but the countless number of pieces multiply into Kuribos. They grasp onto Duos and his sword, preventing it from continuing the battle. BATTLE 292: A MAGICIAN'S BATTLE!! Bakura is found to be in another royal tomb. Mahaado asks to be able to confront Bakura there. Yugi agrees. Mahaado begins his preparations, but is distracted by the sudden appearance of his apprentice, Mana. Shimon states that Mahaado's Ka cannot defeat Bakura's. He would need the power of the Wedges. Not vengeance, but strength of the heart is needed. Mahaado believes otherwise, and states that he will not lose to anyone and leaves. Mana gives Shimon hell for doubting Mahaado. She reveals that he sealed part of himself away five years ago, when he received the Millennium Ring and became one of the chosen Priests. Maahado once again enters the tomb of Pharaoh Aknamkanon. A short time later, Bakura enters as well - but this time it's a trap. Mahaado is waiting for him, and a large boulder is rolled in front of the entrance to the tomb. It is here that Mahaado can unleash his full power without hurting anyone. Bakura summons Diabound, its appearance slightly changed due to Bakura's feeling of vengeance. Mahaado also summons his spirit - the Illusionary Magician. BATTLE 293: THE BLACK TECHNIQUE!! Mahaado begins to punish Diabound and Bakura several times with his abilities and the Illusionary Magician. However, a false step on Mahaado's part sets of a trap of swinging blades in the tomb. Though Mahaado is unharmed by it, it distracts him for the instant that Diabound needs to attack Mahaado. Mahaado is still alive, even after taking the full brunt of Diabound's attack. Mahaado, very wounded, decides to use his final technique - be sacrificing his life, he can fuse his soul with his spirit. He final words are "Pharaoh, I shall always be your servant." He chants, and just as the blade end his life, his soul merges with the Illusionary Magician. Bakura thinks the battle is over, but Mahaado's spirit is still in the tomb. He commands Diabound to attack, but the spirit retaliates with its attack... ...Black Magic. Bakura is sent spiraling into the abyss of the tomb. When the sun rises the next day, Mahaado's assistants are shocked to see what appears on a Wedge that they brought with them. Returning to the royal palace, they display the Wedge for the Pharaoh to see - Mahaado as the Illusionary Magician. BATTLE 294: OPEN THE UNSEEN DOOR!! In the room of Yugi's mind, the group is getting distressed. They don't know how long they have been searching, as Anzu's watch has completely stopped. They keep thinking of ways to find the real door. Jounouchi has put a happy face on each door that they have already opened. Yugi finally looks at the happy face that Jounouchi drew on a door. He realizes that they should once again make their circle of friendship. They put their hands on one another, and the door begins to open. "You can see it but you can't see it." The crew jumps through the door, which is high above an Egpytian city (Bobasa says that they won't be hurt). Even Bakura makes his way through, unknown to them. BATTLE 295: TEARS THAT FLOW AS THE NILE The Priests at the palace are scrambling to understand the recent turn of events. They are not sure that Bakura is dead or alive, and Isis' can't tell with her powers of seeing into the future. However, Isis states that she cannot see the future of a holder of a Millennium Item. So, either Bakura has stolen the Millennium Ring that Mahaado was the holder of, or he is dead. Seto offer to send him men into the city to find out. Mana is allowed to enters the palace by Yugi, and is saddened to see the truth is that her teacher is no longer among the living, and is part of a Wedge. She begs Yugi to call him forth so that she can see him, but Isis states that even if he would, Mana's power is not strong enough to even be able to see him. In the center the city, the normal Yugi and the group touch down, near the royal palace. Though they try to go for the palace, Bobasa states that no one in this world can see them, which is proven when a woman walks right through Jounouchi. They can't do much of anything in this world. At that time, someone runs into their area, telling the people that royal soldiers are making their way into the city. As Seto and Shada are carried through the city, Seto tells Shada that they are going to have to use his Ahnk to see into the hearts of people. Shada objects, since indiscriminate use of it is unforgivable. Seto point out that they don't really have an option, partly due to the fact that Bakura may have the Millennium Ring, and they don't want the nightmare to be repeated again. BATTLE 296: KA HUNTING!! In the Winking Camel tavern, a man talks to the barkeep about a White Dragon that he saw in the desert. He is quickly taken by the guards to where Shada views his soul, which does have a dark creature in it. The man babbles on about a White Dragon. Yugi and the group are thinking of what to do next, when they see a woman being abused by the townsfolk by stoning her. She is albino, with blue eyes. None of the townsfolk want her in the city. Yugi and the group try to stop them, but can't do anything as they still pass through people. It's then that Seto and the soldiers notice. He threatens the townsfolk who tried to kill her. As she is being given water, Shada's Ahnk begins to glow violently. Using the power of the Ahnk, he sees her Ka is that of a White Dragon. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Fin.
