What do you get when you divide forty-four by four? Eleven. Add a seven in front of it, and you get "7-11." This week's card is another of the over-powered "chaos" Monsters, Chaos Soldier -Messenger of Creation- (CS for short in this review.) CS will be released in the next English set, along with the powerful Chaos Emperor Dragon (CED).

As many of you know, CS is one addition to the lineup of cards that Konami has "retrained." What I mean is that there are a number of previously bland, non-effect Monsters that have been rereleased as Monsters with effects.

Comparing CS to many Monsters give you a frightening revelation: it has one of the highest, usable attack strengths in the game. The way to abuse this is the way in which you play it. Since CS is a Special Summon, you can do multiples of them in a single turn, along with your normal summon. 3000 attack coming at your Monsters is something that most people don't want to deal with, if they can help it.

If the attack strength wasnt enough for a Special Summon, we'll add two effects if you act now. You can activate either of them, but only once during your own turn.

First of all, you can remove one Monster on the Field from the game. Real simple. If there is a Monster that is in your way, especially a face-down one, you can remove it from the game. The drawback is that you can't attack with the CS during that same turn (and would be completely unfair if you could). This, of course, means that you can't activate this effect during your Main Phase 2, like Cross Soul. Like many other cards, Priority can be used to activate this effect as soon as it's Special Summoned, before your opponent can hit it with Bottomless Pit Trap.

As for the second effect, looking at the Japanese section of yugioh-card.com (controlled by Konami), it says that the CS's second effect can be activated during the Damage Step of an attack. Yes, that second attack can be directly.

On another note, there has been some major confusion on the second effect of CS. If CS attacks and destroys a Monster as a result of Battle, it can attack ONE more time. That's it. Even if you destroy a second Monster with that second attack, CS won't get another attack. There also a small bit that I need to add to my list, as noted above in the translation. The word "continue" is underlined. This means that after the CS attacks and destroys a Monster, the next attack you make MUST be with the CS or the CS loses the ability to attack again. Even equipping [Twin Swords of Flurry - Toraisu] on CS will only net you a TOTAL of two attacks.

For example, if you have a CS and Gaia on the Field, and CS attacks and destroys a Monster to activate its effect, the next attack you make must be with CS. If you attack with Gaia instead, CS loses the ability to make the second attack for that turn.

CS is one of those "standard" Special Summon Monsters. This means that you have to fulfill its requirements to initially Special Summon. After you have, you CAN use cards to Special Summon it from your Cemetery (unlike Berserk Dead Dragon, Exodia Necros, etc.). As if I needed to remind you, since it IS a Monster with a Special Summon requirement, you CAN'T simply discard it from your hand and use a card to Special Summon it from your Cemetery.

For those that are wondering, this card's name is different than the regular Chaos Soldier, so you can include up to three of each of them in your deck. Unfortunately, this also means that this CS can't be used in a Fusion for Master of Dragon Knight.

Edo's Rating: 4 out of 5. Not as completely cheesy as CED, CS has its own level of being overpowered. It's nicely placed in many mixed decks that use a combination of Light and Dark Monsters. Due to its massive power, it was restricted to one per deck in Japan. English-environment players, expect to mix it up with this Monster early next year.
